This new coronavirus pandemic is certainly bringing very tough times for everybody. It feels sometimes like a bad dream or a B movie, and it is difficult to explain how we have reached this point. Nobody would have believed it 6 months ago, but here we are.
Companies and businesses are really struggling. How long they can survive without incomes? It is a very thin line, between economy and public health. Is it possible to reactivate economy without compromising public health? We have to find the way!
There is a lot of contradictory information, and it seems that nobody really knows what to do. At the moment, what we are expected to do is to follow WHO (World Health Organization) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommendations, respect your local authority commands and restrictions, and most of all apply common sense. I could not imagine a better time to play it safe.
Once companies and businesses are allowed to function, things are not going to be the same. We will have to adjust and take a lot of safety and health measurements to protect our employees and customers

The main point is that apart of protecting yourself, most importantly you have to protect others.
As per March 31 2020, these are the WHO recommendations to protect yourself and others against the new coronavirus outbreak.
- Wash your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.
- Maintain at least 3 feet (1 meter) social distancing. CDC recommends at least 6 feet (2 meters).
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
- Practice respiratory hygiene by covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.
- If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early.
- Stay informed and follow advice given by your healthcare provider, your national and local public health authority or your employer.
Anti COVID-19 kit
Thousands of people are dying every day. We all have to do everything possible to win this war. In the absence of a vaccine or effective antiviral drugs, everybody, including companies and businesses, has to follow very strict protocols. One of the main drivers for businesses to have success in these circumstances is health and safety for customer and employees. If they feel comfortable and safe, your business will have much more chances to do well.
Here you have some items for your company’s anti COVID-19 kit:
- Alcohol-based hand sanitizers
- Automatic dispensers
- Face masks
- Face shields & goggles
Alcohol-based hand sanitizers
It is very important to provide access to hand sanitizer, and inform your employees and customers about using hand sanitizer as much as possible. Always before and after touching something other people have touched. For instance, handles of shopping carts, fuel pumps, money, and elevator buttons or door handles. And of course, after each time you cough and sneeze.

If you want your employees and customers to feel safe and comfortable, you’d better use automatic dispenser for hand sanitizer. The fact that you don’t need to touch it to get the gel gives an extra level of safety.
These are some models of automatic dispensers:
You don’t want your business to be an infection focus, or your customers and employees to get infected. Even though it is not proven that wearing a mask can avoid you being infected, covering your nose and mouth can limit the chance that you spread it to others if you are infected, even if you are asymptomatic.
Providing face masks to your employees and customers is a must.
It is very important to note that cloth face coverings recommended for individuals are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders.

Face shields & goggles
There is no scientific evidence supporting rumors that everyday eyeglasses offer protection against COVID-19. However, a face shield and protection goggles are a different story. Additionally it can help you to avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Here you have some examples.
The main recommendation is to wash your hands as much as possible, but gloves can also help. Provided a proper use, removing and discarding, the CDC has recommended the use of gloves when a) Touching the buttons or handles on a gas pump when disinfecting wipes are not available; b) Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces; or c) Handling dirty laundry, kitchen items, or trash from someone who has the virus.
